North Manchester Chamber of Commerce Holds 2014 Harvest Festival
Sponsored by the Chamber Tourism Committee, the festival offers a packed schedule of events that celebrate the fall season, in addition to quality craft and specialty food vendors – all in the downtown Main Street area in North Manchester. Starting the Harvest Festival this year, you can pick up some neat treasures at the Antique Auction Values Friday, October 10th from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. The North Manchester Chamber of Commerce continues the fun on Saturday, October 11th with the following activities.
Some fun activities to enjoy include a cow milking challenge, horse & wagon rides, and a “Guess the Animal’s Weight” contest. Craft booths will be open along Market Street from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Face painting (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) and the kiddie tractor pull (1 p.m.) will be fun for the children. Make sure to register for the kiddie tractor pull by 12:30 p.m. at First Financial Bank. New exhibits will be available for viewing at the Center for History from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m with Tom Airgood playing piano throughout the day. Do not forget to stop by the Market Square Stage from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. Folk music by the Eel River Rambler will kick off the music, storytelling, and live entertainment section of the day. Food will be popular at the Harvest Festival this year including muffins, coffee, homemade soup, apple dumplings, tenderloins, and pork chops. To conclude the 2014 Harvest Festival, from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., there will be Thomas Marshall House tours to allow you to brush up on your North Manchester history.
