Putting on the Green North Manchester Style
15th Annual Golf Outing

What a great day for a game of golf! The North Manchester Chamber of Commerce hosted their 15th Annual Golf Outing on Friday, May 16, 2008 at the beautiful Sycamore Golf Club, North Manchester. Great weather, good people and fantastic golfing was the key to our success, not to mention all of the sponsors who could not make it but donated their money for our time and effort to help support our wonderful North Manchester Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber was lucky enough to host 16 teams and 64 players, they came out and played to the best of their ability (or not) depends on who you talk to. There were Mulligans and Greens to purchase along with two Skills holes that the players willingly donated their skills and hard earned money to try their luck at. All of the raised money at these holes was automatically donated to the good cause of the North Manchester Chamber of Commerce's fund raising and for next years golf outing.

The outing hosted the teams and players with an awesome lunch, thank you to the MainView Inn, with Grilled Tenderloins w/all the fixings, coleslaw, baked beans and chips. The dessert was the delicious cookies donated by Nordmann's Nook. Drinks were donated by the MainView Inn and Dr. William Hankee, DDS.

After a brief welcome and instructions given by Todd Sandow, owner and Professional of Sycamore Golf Course, the teams were off and running. The teams were extremely happy with the sunshine, even though most wore wind breakers, it was still a very nice day to be out on a golf course. Of course an occasional visit by the beverage cart that was driven by our volunteers, Miriah Tobias and Dan Fields was usually a welcome sight. Teams were able to visit the 10th hole which was being manned by our very own Chamber members, Annette Ayres and Glenda Christiansen, for a quick hot dog and cool beverage with Julie Sellers keeping an eye out at the #15 Hole for the Double your Balls skills shot. The Chambers very own, Annette Meggison and Kathy Roberts manned the Buck-a-Putt hole on the practice green. After the long beautiful afternoon of relaxing golf, the teams were invited back to the clubhouse for a bragging session and to some, another chance of a quick snack on the leftover food.

First Place Team: Shepherd's Chevy-Cadillac
The committee gave prizes to the 1st place, 2nd place and Last place teams along with 2 Longest Drives at the 9th and 16th holes and 2 Closest to the Pin prizes at the 4th and 18th holes. 1st Place team went to the Shepherds Chevy & Cadillac team with team members of Tim Shepherd, Duane Trump, Ty Baer and Eric Cass. 2nd Place honors went to the Manchester Tool & Die team of Chad Williams, Jeff Kock, Mike Kline Sr., and Mark Sandlin. Last place team privilege went to the Peabody Retirement Community team of Donnie Kohls, Ginny Crowe and Carolyn Fedewa. These teams all received NM Chamber Bucks and a sleeve of golf balls, courtesy of the NM Chamber of Commerce. Chad Williams received the honors of Longest Drive on the 9th hole with John Mugford Jr., receiving the Longest Drive on the 16th hole. Our other hole winners were Tim Shepherd who won Closest to the Pin on hole #4 and with Joe Frantz collecting the win on Closest to the Pin on hole #18. Each recipient received either a free round of Golf or a Free Golf Lesson courtesy of Sycamore Golf Club and a sleeve of golf balls from the NM Chamber of Commerce.
